Vascular Disability Evaluation

Evaluating patients for disability due to lower extremity vascular disease can be difficult. Iowa Vein Center has the knowledge and the resources to evaluate patients for workers compensation and disability claims. Iowa Vein Center uses special outpatient testing along with the guidelines to the evaluation of permanent impairment put out by the American Medical Association. Dr. J.A. Olivencia is certified by the American Board of Disability Analysis and Charter Member of the National Association of Disability Evaluating Physicians.

To evaluate peripheral vascular disease of the lower extremity five classes are used to categorize the severity of the symptoms and diagnostic findings. The impairment is based on the “whole person”.

Class

% Impairment of Whole Person

Class 1 0 - 9%
Class 2 10 - 39%
Class 3 40 - 69%
Class 4 70 - 89%
Class 5 90 - 100%

Symptoms clinical and diagnostic findings all go into the evaluation and Class determination on an individual basis with set guidelines followed. If you believe you have a disability or workers compensation case call us at the Iowa Vein Center for a complete evaluation.
