Traveling short or long distances can result in leg pain. Follow these tips to avoid any short- or long-term discomfort associated with traveling.
- No high heels or new shoes
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Request aisle or bulk head seat & ambulate on the plane
- Wear knee high compression hose
- Stretch frequently legs & upper body
- Drink plenty of water
- Take baby aspirin daily starting 3 days before trip until 2 days after trip
- If unable to stand, move feet and ankles while seated
- Elevate your legs after travel
- Notice sudden swelling or pain consult your doctor
- After recent surgery, consult your doctor before travel
