Tweezing, waxing, shaving and creams are not a permanent solution to
removing hair. Electrolysis is not the answer, either. It can be a very time consuming and painful process. The answer is the advanced treatment
options performed at Iowa Vein Center.
Iowa Vein Center physicians address the typical questions patients ask most often about hair removal.
What is the best way to remove unwanted hair?
Vasculight is today’s most advanced method for hair removal. Vasculight emits pulsed light energy through a crystal filter. The treatment has minimal discomfort, feeling similar to a “rubber-band snap” and/or a slight sunburn. Several treatments may be needed in an area to achieve optimal results.
How much does hair removal treatment cost?
With the Vasculight Hair Removal System, cost is based per session on the area treated. The average number of sessions per area is 2-6.
Are there any complications associated with this treatment?
The area treated may feel like a slight sunburn. Occasionally welts, bruising or a blister may occur. In rare situations it may temporarily leave a change in skin color, lighter or darker. Staying out of the sun and/or using sunscreen is advised before and after anything that may irritate the area of treated skin should be avoided.
Will the hair ever return?
Not all hair responds to the Vasculight. It is best suited for lighter skinned, darker color hair. Lighter hair may be treated but be less responsive. Some hair follicles may be in the latent phase during treatment and may need to be treated on at a time again.
Will my insurance cover this treatment?
Most insurance companies consider this to be cosmetic and will not cover this procedure. In rare genetic abnormal hair growth cases some may consider on an individual basis. |
